The best 5 messaging and communication apps

Communication is a big part of our lives and thanks to technology it’s much easier now. Most people have friends or relatives who live far away. And it’s important to keep in touch with them. That’s why having a reliable means of communication with them is important. Of course, there are many messaging and communication apps that are available. In no particular order here are the best 5 messaging and communication apps:

WhatsApp is simply one of the best messaging apps out there. It has an enormous user base so your friends might already be using it. It lets you message anyone who has the app regardless of the platform. It also lets you set up group chats with friends and also has a great voice calling feature. But sadly it still doesn’t offer group voice calls or video calls. The supported platforms are iOS, Android and Windows phone.

Facebook Messenger

Facebook Messenger is one of the largest messaging apps out there, due to the sheer volume of Facebook users. It lets you message anyone who has the app or a Facebook account and lets you set up group chats. You can set up voice call and group voice calls with anyone you want (The maximum limit of a group voice call is 50). It also has a feature for video calling (no group video calls). But the best feature is that almost everyone you know has it.

If your focus is on security then Telegram is what you’re looking for. It offers a secure and encrypted messaging service and also lets you create group chats with up to 5000 participants. It can also save your chats on the cloud and sync them with all your devices. Unfortunately, Telegram still doesn’t support voice calling or video calling.

Skype is one of the best communication apps to stay connected with family and friends. It’s available on almost every platform. It lets you message anyone who has it and create group chats with up to 300 participants. It supports voice and videos calls and lets you create video call groups with up to 25 participants. Another great feature is that you can call phone numbers and landlines at lower rates.

FaceTime is great app for video calling and staying in touch with friends and family. It has a terrific video and audio quality making it the best video chatting app. But sadly nothing is perfect and the flaw in FaceTime is that it’s supported on Apple devices only. If most of your friends use Apple products you’ll be fine. But if most of your friends don’t use Apple products then you’re out of luck.
